Learn How to Be Romantic on a Boat

Do you like to watch the sky’s stunning splendor slowly disappear at sunset? Maybe you are more of a moonlight in your eye like a big pizza pie kind of guy/girl? Enjoy romantic adventures to foreign lands? All those things are possible and they can be even more romantic and magnificent when you experience them on a boat.

A cooler packed with a chilled bottle of Riesling, brie cheese slices, seedless grapes and cocktail shrimp can change a peanut butter and jelly boat ride into a date beyond compare. Take your boat out just before the sun goes down, face it toward the west and enjoy the most romantic sunset dinner you have ever had.

Moonlit nights are just as beautiful on a boat (if you have the proper gear for nighttime navigation and know how to use it). When the nights are calm and clear, the stars glimmer and the moon casts a romantic glow on the water. What better scene to set for romance?

If you are more of the active type, try some island hopping for a fun date. This area is packed full of islands with beautiful foliage and historic treasures. One of the best local islands to visit is Disappearing Island in Ponce Inlet. Every day at low tide, what is essentially a huge sandbar transforms into a sunbathing, grilling, corn hole playing island of fun! While it’s not exactly a private date place, it is a great place to enjoy the day, and the leisurely ride there can be romantic. You can launch from the North Causeway in New Smyrna Beach or the Port Orange Causeway and gaze at the beautiful homes adorning the coastline along your way.
