New Smyrna Beach has a charming, small-town appeal with a big appetite for incredible events…
We ring in the New Year with a spectacular fireworks display. Then, choice chowder chefs line both sides of Flagler Avenue to compete in a culinary cook-off during NSB’s January Chowder Festival. The Annual Festival of the Arts – with fabulous art displays by over 230 talented artists, live music, a student art exhibit, a creative education tent, food court and more – will round out January at Riverview Park and Canal Street.
Did someone say party? On Fat Tuesday in New Smyrna Beach, Mardi Gras is celebrated in New Orleans fashion with a parade and parties of extraordinary proportions! Bust out your best beads because Flagler Avenue will be bursting with great Mardi Gras-themed food and music, and prizes will be awarded for best float, parade marchers, and vehicles!
Then, soulful sounds fill the air for four melodious days during the New Smyrna Beach Blues Festival in May. It’s a time when talented musicians can be heard in many great venues throughout the town.
Summer is spectacular in New Smyrna Beach. If you like seafood, you won’t want to miss the Seaside Fiesta in June or New Smyrna Beach’s Annual Shrimp and Seafood Festival in August. Taste great seafood from Volusia’s best restaurants, and enjoy live entertainment.
Fall is festive as well. Don’t miss the Sand Art Festival in October, where participants compete for prizes for their amazing sandy creations.
The holidays are also a magical time in New Smyrna Beach. We hold parades by land and by sea, don’t think that is all we offer for the year! Every month, no matter what time of year, there is a classic car show; art shows exhibiting some of the area’s most acclaimed artists; a craft beer walk; progressive wine tasting where you can choose from over 100 showcased wines; live performances by talented local artists and so much more!
