Aside from being a quaint, beachside town with historic charm and home to some of Florida’s most beautiful beaches, New Smyrna Beach is full of engaging events. There are so many, it’s hard to name them all, so let’s focus on the rest of 2016, shall we?
The entire family can compete for prizes or simply appreciate sand sculpture at the Sand Art Festival October 22nd. There are also art demonstrations and a unique variety of fine arts and crafts during the Art Walk on Flagler Avenue October 22nd. Test your competitive spirit at the New Smyrna-Ween 5k, 10k and Little Devil Beach Runs October 29th. Take in the Halloween Parade and Costume Contest on October 31st, and, if you like a good show, The Little Theatre of NSB presents performances of “Arsenic and Old Lace” throughout the month of October.
Halifax Sports Fishing Club sponsors inshore fishing and surf tournaments in October and November. And absolutely do not miss the spectacular the New Smyrna Beach Kite Festival November 19th and 20th. It’s a site to see!
In December, kick off the holiday season with the Christmas light display on Flagler, take the whole family to the Christmas Parade on the 3rd; enjoy some great tunes at the New Smyrna Beach Rock and Roll Festival December 15-18, and bring in the new year with a bang because there are fireworks in New Smyrna Beach on New Year’s Eve!
Every month, visitors can also enjoy a Classic Car Show including great food and entertainment; a Craft Beer Walk, with a delicious array of craft beers; Music Night at the Hub, with live performances by talented local artists; and a Progressive Wine Tasting Tour.
